I compose with the idea of being a translator between the conscious and subconscious, the obvious and the discreet, telling the story within the story needing to be told.
SF // LA/OC // PDX
My background began with classical and jazz training, before joining LA/OC rock bands Fairview and Kiev. I have since moved to Portland, starting Mojave Bird, a synth-based, haunted & dreamy performance and recording project.
I began scoring films in 2012, and now compose using a broad palette, from piano to full orchestration and string arrangements. It is the subtleties of each scene that are the most interesting to me, and I thrive in creating their reflection through the craft of music, while underlining the intention of the director. I am drawn to contrasting depth and simplicity, dissonance and resolve.
